We flew into Munich and immediately had need for our new chip-based MasterCard; the train ticket kiosk required one. We found our pension, Pension Jakobsplatz, right in the center of town above an Afghan restaurant. We could walk, or take a bus, anywhere in the city, although we were right in the center.
A river runs through it. And even at the end of September the crowd was out for sun.
There was a pre-Oktoberfest celebration in town. Fair booths, rock concerts, and even foreign entertainment led us up and down the river through town.
Munich Rockers move the park in the dark.
Brazil says: "Hi!"
But there is plenty of old Munich, too----
Munich knows how to showcase a most baroque church.
On to Neustift by train and bus. Neustift is at the
Pension Terra in Neustift. Highly recommended.
Walks everywhere. Well signed, too. Lots of choices. Great place for hiking.
Icon, Sülzenaualm, Stubai alps.
Sulzenauhutte. The cables to the valley service supplies and personnel to the "hut".
Industrial scale boot drying rack.
Kaiserschmarren, egg pancake with apfelsousse. What a way to end a hike.
Warm welcome in the hut.
Here, we were in time to get a private room.
No surprise, snow the next morning.
Here I am heading up the cliff below the pass. While there is a cable available, I decided to do the path without aid.
Signs mark all the paths.
Another hut. Another pastry.
Nurnbergerhutte.
Back to Neustift and time to leave for Italy. Things are getting wetter and colder.
